After a period of non-use, you may notice the card reader “goes to sleep” .
The following are the simple steps to “wake up” the reader.
1st, we always recommend keeping the card reader plugged in and “PINNED” to the WELCOME screen. DO NOT swipe or exit from that screen.
For card readers that fall asleep after a period of time for non-use:
The simple steps to take are as follows and should also probably be done at the beginning of each day if the card reader is asleep.
- Tap the screen – this will wake up the card reader
- Type in your unlock code (you created this when you setup the card reader)
- Tap the Kiosk icon
- PIN to the Welcome Screen
You are now ready to process.
If you notice long periods where you have not processed, you may want to check the card reader once in a while to see if it has gone to sleep.
